Guitars For Sale - June 4, 2008

I'm thinning out my collection of mid & high level acoustic guitars. Many of these are luthier-built custom guitars, although I do have a couple factory-built low-mid priced guitars that need a new home.
If you are looking for a new guitar, drop me an email. I might just have what you are looking for.
And don't forget that I'm a dealer/installer for KKSound acoustic pickups.

Spring Ahead ! - March 31, 2008

Another beautiful Spring has arrived (on my birthday) and the grass is beginning to turn green. I love this time of year !
I've got some new songs to debut, and some great dates coming to perform them for you. Please come out and help me wipe away the winter cobwebs.
I've got a couple new guitars to show off too.
See you soon.
Todd

Stunt Man I'm Not ! - October 7, 2007

Doing a stunt for my weekly television show 'Dining Out', I ended up breaking two bones in my left wrist and two left-side ribs, so performing will have to wait while the bones heal. Guitar playing is 'almost' out-of-the-question, but I've figured out a couple chord shapes that I can manage, so I'm working on a new song, that I'll hopefully debut in a couple months. And just for the record, I "did not have a wreck on my scooter"...I went over the handlebars of a bicycle (doing something I shouldn't have). :-) Hope to see everyone soon.

New Venue !! - September 25, 2007

I was graciously invited to perform at the new Middletown United Methodist Church coffee house ('Thee Coffee House') this past Saturday evening. What a wonderful room - great acoustics, yummy deserts & coffee, and a great audience. I felt instantly at home when I walked in. Thank you to John & Dawn Walker for inviting me. I can't wait to return.

Swanson 'Fat Boy' Guitar - July 8, 2007

I performed at the Frederick Coffee House as a last minute fill-in (the scheduled performer cancelled). Having just received my Swanson 'Fat Boy' Guitar the day before, I decided to try it out. Check out the pics on the photo page. It's a cool looking, great sounding, unique guitar. Mark's guitars can be seen on www.markswansonmusic.com.

Playing outside & guitars. - July 8, 2007

I played (outside) this past Tuesday (July 3rd) at The Great Frederick Float celebration (part of downtown Frederick's 4th of July celebration). Because of being outside, I didn't want to play one of my beautiful wooden guitars, so I played my all graphite CA Guitar. It performed flawlessly, looked cool and was unaffected by a swing in humidity & air temperature (late afternoon to evening). Check out CA Guitars at www.caguitars.com.

Fat Boy Guitar ! - July 3, 2007

Mark Swanson builds unique instruments. One is a stubby looking guitar he calls the 'Fat Boy'. After a month long email conversation about guitars and performing, Mark & I have come to an agreement, and I'm soon to be on his 'artist list'. I take delivery of a double soundhole Redwood/Rosewood Fat Boy on Friday. You can check out his work on www.markswansonmusic.com. I'll post an update on the Fat Boy once I've had a chance to get acquainted with it. Stay tuned.

New Guitar(s) !! - May 23, 2007

I've just taken delivery of two (2) new guitars from Jason Harshbarger at Highland Strings. They are exquisite !! I'll post photos soon. If you are a guitar player who likes 'creative' and loves 'tone', then you need to check out Jason's instruments (www.highlandstrings.com). I can't wait for him to build me another one (please don't let Dory hear me say this). :-) Really wonderful guitars. Wait until you see them. I cannot wait to use them in the studio.

Chemistry on stage. - May 13, 2007

Doug Alan Wilcox, a great singer/songwriter and good friend, joined me on-stage last night as my percussionist. What a fun night of musical spontaneity !

Spring Update - March 28, 2007

Spring-like weather has finally arrived and I've got 'summer fever'.
I'll be working diligently to get one of my two CD's duplicated and released over the next couple months. I'm currently stuck in the graphics phase, but there is light at the end (I can see it).
I'm beginning to perform a new song that both Dory & I really like. I hope to play it for you soon.

CD Project(s) Happening ! - December 5, 2006

My CD's have been mastered (that's right, CD's - two of them), and the next step is to decide on packaging and begin the artwork phase. My son Ian (Graphic Design student) will be helping we with the art visuals. I'm pleased with the music and I can't wait for actual release early next year. I'll keep posting updates.
Note: My original intent was for one 12-14 song CD, but after recording eight songs in October, and realizing that I had already recorded 10, that maybe two CD's would be better than one super long one. Sooo, I'll be releasing a 10-song CD title 'Stories To Be Told', and a 9-song CD title 'Another Way '. Warm up your CD player !

Great Day in the Recording Studio !! - October 26, 2006

I've just spent the most wonderful day recording eight new songs at Master View Recording Studio in Dryden, NY with the incredible Peter Hopper. It has been just a phenomenal day ! I can't wait to have the songs mastered and the CD project completed. Our target date is around the first of the year. I'm so excited. I'll keep everyone posted with any & all updates.

Heading to the Recording Studio - October 11, 2006

Hey Folks ! I'm back to MasterView Studio in Ithaca, NY later this month to continue work on my CD project with Peter Hopper. I'll keep you updated on my progress. This inaugural CD will be just me and my guitar(s) performing as if I were in a Coffee House or your living room. To make the recordings sound live, I'll leave in the occasional goof. I figure its only fair since I make goofs all the time while playing live. I might as well make this 'Studio Live' CD as realistic as possible. :-) Stay tuned.

The Coffee Table Grand Opening - September 12, 2006

The Coffee Table's Grand Opening celebration (Sept. 1-9, 2006) was GREAT ! Todd performed both Friday, Sept. 1st and Saturday, Sept. 2nd to a packed house. Marty Hogan (owner) was ecstatic with the turn-out and has decided to make music a regular part of his business. Watch for future dates at The Coffee Table (Frederick, MD).
